1. GAME TIME

The reason football is the most famous is because it is only 90 minutes long, fans can enjoy thrilling matches within 90 minutes, and can go upto maximum time of 120 minute if the game is a KO.

While if we talk about cricket, which is the second most popular sport, its shortest format, T20, can take up to 3 to 3.5 hours, and the longest test match is a maximum of 5 days long.

Whereas basketball is 48 minutes long according to the rules but lasts approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Making football more clear than its competitors.

2. Not expensive and can be played anywhere

Football is considered the least expensive sport in the world, because it only required one football which is not expensive, and for the goal you can pretty much assume anything as to where the goal will be scored.

And you won’t even believe that in most cases people just use Coca-Cola cans and Pepsi cans to play football. And the best thing is that it does not requires big grounds to play it as it can play inside a house as well in small streets.

3. Underdogs and competitive matches

Now if we talk about the game itself in the world’s major football leagues like English Premier League, Laliga, Serie A, Bundesliga, or even in International tournaments like World Cup and Euro.

The competitive and rival teams matches like Real Madrid vs Barcelona, Manchester Derby, Argentina vs Brazil are the ones who take the crowd to the storms while underdogs team like Villareal, Seville and Japan, South Korea in internationals are always here to give tough competitions to the best teams in the world, making it the game where small teams also have a high chance of winning the match.

4. My club is my pride

Football fans are the best fans in the world because their club is their pride. They are ready to go on extreme levels of anger for the sake of the club they love.

Sometimes because of the rivalries two cities of the same country or two different counties act like they are on a war. And social media shows how much possessive they are for their club and country’s football team.

Major examples would be Real Madrid vs Barcelona at the club level and Brazil vs Argentina at the international level.

5. Transfer saga and getting brutally trolled for joining rivals

If you know about football you may know that the transfer window took place twice a year, one after the season ends and the second in January, for starters, it is the time when clubs can sign new players from different clubs all over the world.

But the best thing for players is that they should avoid agreeing to play for their rivals, one of the reasons is when Louis Figo joins Real Madrid after leaving Barcelona in the year 2000, Barca fans throw pig’s head towards him from the stands as well as lighters, bottles, and cans.

Because if you join the rivals you will be considered as disloyal and greedy. It may sound super aggressive towards players but this is the beauty of the sport and also shows the extreme love of fans for their club.

6. Ronaldo vs Messi

Even though football was famous before Ronaldo and Messi but their rivalry give football fans a new chapter to discuss. They are considered rivals because of being the greatest of that generation. Winning Ballon d’Or just like there is a duopoly of winning it.

And the best thing is it this rivalry started in 2008 by the time social media is starting to peak and played the most dominant role in classifying them as the greatest individual rivals football has ever seen.

Their influence is so big that if you go to a country where no one interested in football, the some people will still say that we are Messi fans or Ronaldo fans. This rivalry is something else, that gives a real boost to football itself.

You can search for decades but still be unable to find a better rivalry than those two, the real ambassadors of the greatest game of the world.
